fastrt-0.1: First beta release fastrt-0.11: fastrt.c: Typo in error message for input out of bounds - corrected doserates.pl: Printing of UVB action spectra showed UVA - corrected (doserates unaffected) Made doserates.pl respond to -H option also for printing of action spectra fastrt-0.12: Changed radiative equation solver from DISORT to SDISORT to better handle spherical geometry of high solar zenith angles. Data files recomputed with SDISORT fastrt-0.13: Added five new UV action spectra in doserates.pl fastrt-0.2: More accurate spectral interpolation Improved sampling in LUTs User-defined spectral response function US standard atmosphere instead of subarctic summer type UV-A and UV-B boundary is changed from 320nm to 315nm References to biological action spectra are updated UV doses made compliant with J/m^2 UV doses and doserates computed from monochromatic irradiances instead of convoluted spectra. fastrt-0.21: Data handling bottleneck removed. 15 times faster code. UV-index bug in WWW version removed. 20 Oct. 1998. Detected by Michal Janouch, Czech Hydrometeorological Institute Windows / DOS executables available (29 March 2001) fastrt-0.3: Online facility added for user specified surface altitude fastrt-2.0: Major improvements Now handles aerosols, clouds (homogenous and some inhomogeneous constellations) and surface albedos. Added Vitamin D, Cod egg and Calanus mortality, phytoplankton photoinhibition doserates. fastrt-2.01: Albedo bug fixed in the WWW version. The surface albedo was unintensionally set to zero in version 2.0. The script version is unchanged. (10 Apr 2003). fastrt-2.1: Bug fixed for computations of daily doses in WWW version 2. Script daily_doses.pl available. (28 July 2003) fastrt-2.2: Bug fixed for computation of UV daily doses and indices. New daily_doses.pl available (18 Sept. 2003) The combination of fixed solar zenith angle and daily dose is nonsense and is now disallowed (28 Jan. 2005) fastrt-2.3: Tabular entries of cloud liquid water columns changed to better simulate optically thin clouds (< 300g m-2). Recomputed with newest libRadtran-1.01 version. Former versions assumed a 4 km cloud layer whereas the actual thickness was 3 km. The cloud liquid water columns in former FastRT versions should therefore be multiplied by 0.75. However, the given cloud optical thicknesses have always been correct. We have now extended the simulation tool to hande cloud liquid water contents up to 5000 g m-2 = cloud optical thickness@360nm of 1083. OBS! The source code distribution is not updated yet. (29 June 2005) Bug in the underlying cgi script of the full web version of FastRT for computations under scattered cloud conditions. Did not affect the simple version of web version of FastRT, the source code distribution, the vitamin D related tools nor my publications. (13 June 2006). Improvement of accuracy of calculations for solar zenith angles less than 3 degrees. Thanks to Jaakko HyvÃatti . (19 June 2007). Exchanged the vitamin D action spectrum with the CIE vitamin D effective action spectrum (20 December 2008).
